Ann O'Dowd and Albert Siggins called to us in Collins Plastics to see if we were able to manufacture some Perspex displays for an exhibition Ann was setting up in the Museum Of Country Life in Turlough House in Castlebar. Ann originally needed some cases and plinths to display straw and the way it was used years ago for beds, hives etc. Ann had a full set of straw saddles and bridals for a horse but no horse to display them on. After spending some time in the factory Ann quickly realised where she could get her horse - a perspex horse! Our team worked with Albert from here, a good man with great vision. We laser cut some parts, vacuum formed other parts, drape formed the frame, router cut the legs, and assembled all in the factory before heading to Castlebar. The horse is proudly standing in the museum surrounded by other displays showing a variety of goods made from straw 200-300 years ago. Ann’s project took 10 wks to complete.
